2022 Thru-Hike

Continental Divide Trail Gear List

Backpacking Gear List Review after 2,700+ miles on the Continental Divide Trail

This is my full gear list for my 2022 Continental Divide Trail Thru-Hike.

A few caveats (I did carry two sleeping pads, justified by them both being the short versions). I couldn’t give up having a foam pad to lay on during the day, or an air pad to sleep on. Additionally, having the foam pad gave me extra peace of mind from the many poky things in the desert. My Zpacks Duplex has about 5,000 miles on it now, and the zippers did start to come apart on me and some of the seam taping wore out (causing some leaks). That said, I still love this tent. I use 2 MSR Groundhog minis and 4 of the Zpacks titanium stakes to pitch it.

I had two pocket rockets break on me during this hike. I used a borrowed jetboil flash after the second one broke and am looking for a new stove in general.

If you’d like some more in-depth thoughts on all this gear — check out the gear review I did on YouTube below.

And here’s the full gear list with links and weight for the gram weenies (like me).
